Time to catch up....

So its been two weeks since our last post, and there has been alot going on.

We started selling corn this weekend, and considering how dry of year it's been it tastes great.

We found this sunflower hiding out in the corn field as we picked.

Beans are ready!!!!

Pumpkins are growing great, yes we still really need a rain, but i am starting to give up on even hoping for it. Every forecast with rain in it never produces anything. Or just a few drops. Things are growing good, can only imagine how it would be with water.

We had two very sad days here, Shadow had a very sad encounter with JD the dog, you could tell witch was very affected by what happened to his brother and had a incident with the car the following day. It saddened everyone, its amazing how much they touched our hearts in such a short time.

We where then face with the decision of replacing them or no kittens, because they are going to live outside in the buildings we want them to be grown alittle by winter. So we have since gotten 3 kittens, they are Fluffy, Luna and Buttercup. They where farm kittens and where very nervous around humans. They are now starting to relax around us and even coming up to us to be petted now and then.

We have had about 20 baby koi born at the pond at my moms house.
We enjoyed what we called our first annual Back Yard Camp Out. We had a Bonfire and watched some movies in the back yard on a projector screen, had some fireworks and birthday cakes and many laughs with good friends. A awful sleep on the ground, but a great night.

And finally after many years of 2 or 3 apples we finally got to make a Apple pie from our tree, actually so far 2 apple pies and some apple muffins and some really yummy apple muesli.

We will be starting to pick some tomatoes this week, and as you know hoping for rain. And just incase this post is a little low on how many times i talked about rain.....Rain Rain Rain Rain Rain Rain, there that should have it sounding like every other post from this year.

  1. You sound about the same as us as far as rain goes. We need some really bad and they keep on forecasting some but it never amounts to much and is all dried up after a bit of sunshine. Your apple pies look nice.
